There is no dial tone?
Please check to insure you have the phone cable plugged into both the wall jack and the line jack of the modem.
You may also want to turn off your computer and modem (external) then turn it on and try again.
It says bad username or password?
Please check your login name and make sure it's ALL-lowercase, and that you don't have @nwi.net at the end.
You might also want to check to make sure you are not dialing in using an encrypted password.
I get disconnected as soon as I get connected?
Click Start go to Settings, open Control Panel. Open the Network icon then double left click TCP / IP Dial-up Adapter. Click WINS Resolution tab then Disable WINS Resolution.
It hangs up after sending or receiving email?
Open Outlook Express, click Tools then select Options. It will open another window. Click connection tab at the top and remove the check by "Hang Up After Send And Receiving", then click apply, then click ok, and close Outlook Express.
I get on but can't get any web pages?
To fix this check your DNS settings. Open My Computer and then dialup networking, right click, then left click properties, then select server types or networking tab then click TCP / IP settings button. Then check to make sure your dns primary is 206.130.130.2 and your secondary is 206.130.133.2.
My email will not send or receive messages?
Open your email program and make sure the incoming server name is "mail.nwi.net", and the outgoing is "smtp.nwi.net". Our mail server supports both POP3 and IMAP, and we require authentication for SMTP. Please use your full email address (lower-case) as your username for authintication for all mail services (POP3, IMAP & SMTP).
My content advisory won't let me see anything and I can't get rid of it?
That is a problem that requires you to edit your systems registry. Due to the nature of the file and the risk of damaging your operating system I suggest you take it to your nearest computer repair store or bring it in to us.
It says "Powered by AOL, MSN, JUNO, Etc." on my title bar?
That is a tag line added to your systems registry file. While it might cause you to think you have service with that company, you don't. It is merely an advertisement. If you want it removed take your computer to a repair store or bring it in to us.
Why does some of my email come back to me undeliverable?
Most likely the email address you are sending to is no longer valid or is currently full.
Another possible cause is your misspelling the address or using caps.
My home page won't open when I open my browser?
The most common problem is it doesn't dial out first and connect. Click File and make sure there is no check by "work offline".
Common Dialup Error Messages
602 The Port is Already Open
Restart the computer to fix this problem.
650 The remote access server is not responding
Two common problems with this: Either it's just an error and try again or we might be experiencing technical difficulties with the network or it is down.
691 Invalid username or password
The most common problem is that both your username and password must be ALL-LOWERCASE. Other common reasons are the account has been deactivated or canceled.
718 PPP timeout
Check to make sure there is no IPX / SPC enabled and that log on to network is not checked.
