In this composite photo aft and front seat back rests are shown. Back cushions are removed in both photos for better clarity (configuration in the photos is when the plane is flown with parachutes).

Both seat back rests are contoured so that there is a continous transition from the seat bottom aft and up, with no cross bar (as was on previous models) to interfere with the pilot's body lower back.

The aft back cushion has velcro strips which engage to the corresponding strips on the back rest, making the location and angle of the cushion adjustable. That way each pilot may maintain his or her most optimal position, and the cushion does not slip.

The front back rest pan has a cutout on its bottom where formerly a straight rim was.

These design changes totally eliminated complaints from pilots about back rests being uncomfortable.
